Jimbo won’t be taking home any Mr. Congeniality awards, but he will get a serious nod from us for his comedic valor. That’s because there’s some serious bravery in waking up at the crack of dawn and putting your ass—and mouth—on the air to inject a wallop of humor into the car stereos of thousands of bleary-eyed commuters battling the 10, 60, 91, 15 or 210 freeways. His listenernship is only waiting for 5PM to roll around so they can do it in reverse, which means humor is the only medicine—but while Jimbo’s faithful get the shit end of the stick when the whistle blows, they get to laugh again next morning. It’s a sick routine, really. Sick being an antonym for totally admirable. (Waleed Rashidi)
