The festivities will also include a dedicated Kid’s Korral for the youngsters, a craft, food and art show, live performances by the Painted Magic Drill Team, and Native American pow-wows and cowboy re-enactments. An adults-only Casino Night and Little Miss San Dimas Contest will be presided over by the newly crowned First Lady of Rodeo, Maegen Ridley of Alta Loma. On the final day, Pastor Bob Harris leads his cowboy congregation with services at 9AM and follows up with hosting duties at Challenged Buckaroos, a special rodeo for the disabled.
The San Dimas Western Days Rodeo takes place October 4–5 at the Tex Shoemaker Rodeo Arena in Horsethief Park. Gates open at 11AM on both days, with competition beginning at 2PM. Yee haw! (Nancy Powell)
